Assembly Instructions

⚠ Safety Notice: The braking system is an active safety component in a vehicle. All work related to this system must be performed by qualified personnel.

⚠ Important — No Grease: Do not use any type of grease with Frenkit Performance kits. This will degrade the dust boots.

⚠ Caution — Dry Installation: The Frenkit Performance dust boots are made from a special silicone based material designed for high temperature performance and should be installed dry. Avoid any contact with grease or fluids on the dust boots.

Mounting Instructions

  1. 1
Frenkit Performance kits must be installed in a properly prepared caliper housing. Remove all dirt, old brake fluid, and grease. Clean all mating surfaces with a suitable brake cleaner.
  2. 2
Before installation, soak the piston seals in brake fluid for at least 30 minutes.
  3. 3
Install the piston seals carefully, ensuring they are seated evenly and correctly, without any damage or kinks.
  4. 4
Install the piston dust covers (dust boots) manually or with a special mandrel tool. Ensure uniform installation without damage or distortion.
  5. 5
Install the caliper piston gently, applying even pressure. Avoid excessive force, which can damage the seals.
  6. 6
Apply the temperature indicating label to the brake caliper housing to monitor maximum operating temperature.
